Art

The course is designed to specifically allow learners to develop knowledge and understanding through a variety of learning experiences and approaches including engagement with sources. This will allow them to develop the skills to explore, create and communicate their own ideas.

Future Careers - Art

Art and design can lead you to many jobs within art and design such as: fine artist, art therapist, art gallery curator, art teacher or lecturer, technician, art values, illustrator. It can also be linked to other industries such as architecture, fashion, media, film and theatre.

 

Design and Technology

Students learn to generate ideas, select appropriate materials, use tools and technologies (including CAD), and design and make quality products while considering sustainability and real-world needs. It builds creative problem-solving, technical understanding, and decision-making skills that can support further study or careers in design, engineering and related industries.

Careers linked to design and technology include: engineers, architect, animator, carpenter, product designer, CAD Designer.

 

Photography

Students learn to use digital and film cameras, explore different photographic styles like portraiture and documentary, and develop their image editing skills using software such as Photoshop while building a portfolio of themed projects.

Careers linked to photography include: photographer, graphic designer, magazine editor, medical illustrator, television camera operator, advertising, digital marketing, film director, film editor, media planned, multi edit specialist.

 

Animal Care

The course introduces learners to key animal care knowledge and practical skills, helping them learn about animal health, handling, welfare, and housing while combining classroom work with hands-on experiences. It supports progression into further study or employment in the animal care field by giving students a solid foundation in both theory and applied animal care practice.

Careers linked to animal care include roles such as veterinarians, veterinary technicians, animal caretakers, trainers, wildlife rehabilitators, conservation scientists, zookeepers, shelter workers, and animal welfare advocates who work to protect, treat, and improve the lives of animals.
