Brannel School – Celebrating a year of growth, ambition and achievement
Brannel School is proudly celebrating a year of continued improvement in outcomes for our learners, driven by ambition, hard work and the belief that every young person can thrive.
This year’s results show a strong upward trajectory:
-
Attainment 8 has risen to 41.6 in 2025, up from 40.8 in 2024 - demonstrating greater success across a broad curriculum.
-
The most significant gains have been made in disadvantaged learners’ outcomes, with their Attainment 8 jumping from 29.5 to 38 in just one year. This reflects our impactful support, strong teaching and a commitment to equity for our learners.
-
54.9% of learners achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Maths, meaning more learners than ever have secured the key qualifications needed to progress successfully into further education, training or employment.
-
An extraordinary improvement in language outcomes with 67% of learners achieving Grade 5 or above compared to 53% last year, well above the national average.
-
Creativity shines through at Brannel school, and this is demonstrated in our exceptional Drama results with 65.7% % of students achieving a Grade 5 or above. Our learners also performed brilliantly in Photography with 78.9% achieving a Grade 5 or above.
These improvements show that Brannel learners are not just achieving more, they are thinking bigger, aiming higher, and opening more doors to future pathways. The significant rise in outcomes for disadvantaged learners is a particular point of pride and speaks to a culture where potential is recognised and nurtured. The improved outcomes in many areas build on our first year of achieving a positive Progress 8 score in 2024.
This success reflects the dedication and teamwork of learners, families, teachers and support staff. Together, we have strengthened expectations, deepened support strategies, and celebrated every milestone along the way.

Tristan Muller-Forster, Headteacher at Brannel School, said:
“We are incredibly proud of our students and the results they have achieved, which are hugely deserved. They have worked extremely hard to gain these results, over the 5 years that they have been with us at Brannel School, but specifically over the last two years. It’s always such a privilege to be celebrating their achievements with them today.
“It is a real representation of the support that our Trust and our school has from all our students and their families. I would like to thank everyone involved in supporting our young people but especially their families, our staff and the wider community for their ongoing support and we look forward to seeing our students progress on to the next stage of their education and fulfil their goals.”
