Admissions into Year 7 for September 2026

We are absolutely delighted that you are considering Brannel School for your child’s secondary education! Applications for a place at our school are made through Cornwall Council. Once you have received your child’s Unique Identification Number (UID), you can complete the application online with ease. Alternatively, if you would prefer, a paper application form can be downloaded directly from Cornwall Council's website.

 

Admissions into Year 7 for September 2027

For children born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016, the application window for a secondary school place opens on 1 September 2026.

We understand how important this decision is, which is why we host an exciting open evening every September/October. This event is a fantastic opportunity for prospective parents and carers to meet our dedicated staff, talk with our brilliant learners, and explore our vibrant school community. We strongly encourage you to join us for this evening, or book one of our guided school tours, to gain a real insight into life at Brannel.

Admissions into other year groups

Occasionally, children enter the school outside the normal admissions point. If you wish to apply for a place, please apply through Cornwall Council admissions department. If your child is allocated a place, you will be invited to have a tour of the school and chat to the Director of Year when a start date will be provided.

If your application is unsuccessful, you will be given the opportunity to appeal against the decision and to remain on our waiting list should a place become available.
