Matilida the Musical

Brannel School Brings Roald Dahl Classic Matilda to Life

Learners at Brannel School took to the stage with a lively and confident production of Matilda the Musical, delighting audiences with strong performances, sharp humour and an infectious sense of fun.

Based on Roald Dahl’s much-loved novel, Matilda tells the story of a clever and courageous young girl who learns to stand up to the adults who underestimate her. Brannel School’s cast rose to the challenge, delivering energetic musical numbers and clear storytelling that kept the audience engaged throughout.

Behind the scenes, learners and staff collaborated to create an impressive set and costume design that reflected the playful yet slightly dark tone of the story, while choreography added pace and visual interest to the production.

The show highlighted not only the school’s musical and dramatic talent, but also the teamwork and commitment involved in staging a full-scale production. Parents, carers and members of the local community attended the performances, offering warm applause and positive feedback.

Brannel School’s Matilda proved to be a celebration of creativity, confidence and young talent, reinforcing the important message at the heart of the story: that children’s voices matter, and courage can come in many forms.
